ABOUT ST. MARK'S

St. Mark's Nursery School, located in Rockville Centre, New York, is a non-profit organization owned and operated by its members - the parents. The school is registered with the New York State Department of Education and licensed by the New York State Office of Children and Family Services. We provide 3 and 4-year-old programs and extended day options, as well as 2-Year-Old "Two-gether", Transition, and Separation classes.
Our nursery school is special because we are a "cooperative." Our school is run by the families whose children attend classes. A cooperative nursery school represents the joint effort of parents and educators to provide young children with the best possible experiences for growth and development.
Parents and/or caregivers participate in the classroom on a rotating basis for each child's "special day." Depending on how often a child's class meets, parents can expect to come to class between five and seven times over the 10-month school year.
Parents also serve on one of many committees that help run the school, ranging from Fundraising to Substitute Teaching. We strive to accommodate all families different needs and schedules.
