ABOUT ST. MARK'S
St. Mark's Nursery School, located in Rockville Centre, New York, is a non-profit organization owned and operated by its members - the parents. The school is registered with the New York State Department of Education and licensed by the New York State Office of Children and Family Services. We provide 3-year-old, 4-year-old and 5-year-old Enrichment classes, as well as 2-year-old Mommy and Me and Separation classes.
Our nursery school is special because we are a "cooperative." Our school is run by the families whose children attend classes. A cooperative nursery school represents the joint effort of parents and educators to provide young children with the best possible experiences for growth and development.
Parents and/or caregivers participate in the classroom on a rotating basis for each child's "special day." Depending on how often a child's class meets, parents can expect to come to class between four and nine times over the 10-month school year.
Parents also serve on one of many committees that help run the school, ranging from Fundraising to Substitute Teaching.
